HISTORY OF ICON
ICON Snowboards was officialy founded in Helsinki,Finland in the year 2000. The main idea behind Icon was to form an truly rider driven snowboard brand (sounds like cliche, but its true) from Finland. Through the years Finnish riders has been known worldwide for their incredible high level of riding skills and still today many of the best riders in the world are owning a finnish passport. We founded ICON Snowboards to reflect everything that Finnish snowboarding stands for: high performance, quality and style. In 2004, after 4 years of being part of a larger company, Icon Snowboards was set to become an independently owned company by its original creators who named it Immortal Cowboys Of North ( Name comes from letters I, C, O, and N ).
Since the year 2000 many things have changed in the world of snowboarding. The industry has experienced its up´s and down´s and also planet earth itself has shown us that the fact that we have snow on this planet should be respected! ICON also has changed in many ways but the driving force behind ICON is still the same today as it was on the first day it was created: love and dedication for snowboarding.
